The Mystical

0 Articles

Mysticism is a unique realm of human experience involving contact with a "transcendent" reality, expressed through forms such as union with the divine, communication with spirits, merging with an impersonal Absolute, and so forth.
Mysticism relies on intuitive insight. The altered states of consciousness accompanying mystical experience make it impossible to describe in ordinary language. To convey it, mystics often resort to paradoxical, symbolic language or prefer complete silence.
This series introduces viewers to hypotheses beyond the scope of materialist theology, philosophy, and science—beyond the boundaries of possible experience—presenting a unique perspective on the relationship between crucial domains of human culture: religion, myth, and science.
Mysticism is not necessarily synonymous with irrationalism. Perceiving events as absurd and supernatural may be just one dimension of understanding them. Events carry deeper, allegorical meanings, the analysis of which can be a fully rational process.
Mystical themes are present in numerous philosophical concepts and in the works of many representatives of literature and art.
The novel «The Master and Margarita», written by Mikhail Bulgachev between 1928 and 1940, is one of the most enigmatic and mystical works in world literature.
This work is imbued with mysticism and a profound philosophy of life, love, and death, set against the mundane backdrop of Moscow life in 1929.
«The Master and Margarita» blends satire and philosophical allegory, fantasy and everyday reality, biblical imagery, mythological archetypes, elements of detective fiction, picaresque novel, and more.
Margarita has become a beautiful, universal, and poetic image of a woman who loves...
The «Encyclopædia Britannica» recognizes the novel as a 20th-century masterpiece: "Witty and ribald, it is simultaneously a profound philosophical work addressing deep and eternal questions of good and evil... acknowledged as one of the finest achievements of 20th-century Russian literature."

"Mysticism is realism, the perception of realities, merging with realities; whereas rationalistic positivism is illusionism, the loss of the sense of realities, a rupture between the realities of the world."
— Nikolai Berdyaev
