A flight is not merely a transfer from one point to another. It is a brief yet intensely concentrated experience of breaking away from the earth — the familiar foundation of human existence. Takeoff is always somewhat unnatural: the body remains the same, but the world suddenly recedes downward, transforming into a diagram, a map, an abstraction.
In the moment of flight, perspective changes. Cities lose their weight, borders disappear, roads become thin lines. What once seemed significant becomes almost conditional from above. And then a strange sensation arises: perhaps not only space, but also our ideas about it, are relative.
A flight is also an experience of being in-between. We are no longer where we took off from, but not yet where we are headed. It is a state "between" — outside familiar coordinates. In this state, a person is freed from role, from place, from context. They become a pure observer, existing in transition.
The flight ends, but a brief sensation of an alternative perspective remains — a sense that the world is not a fixed given, but a changeable field. The experience of altitude lingers as a reminder: a person is capable of seeing farther than their point of origin allows.
